Pulsing

• Pulsing is a system of moving vehicles at regular intervals toward the highway on Gate Road to avoid the long slow creep that challenges the sanity of even the most patient among us.
• With Pulsing, vehicles stop and turn off their engines. Then, every hour, vehicles are “pulsed” a mile forward all at once.

Food, Water, and Toilets:

If you are driving out be sure to pack food and water for the day. In the past, weather and other circumstances have caused traffic back ups at the exit that can last up to 12 hours. If this happens, access to food and water is entirely up to you. DO NOT dispose of all of your supplies in expectation of being back in civilization soon. Plan ahead. There are portable toilets along the exit route, but these are few and far between and walking out to them is an easy way to get separated from your vehicle. Always tell someone in your party where you are going so they know how to find you when traffic begins to move.
