Where can I go if I fear for my safety at BM?
- Remove yourself from the dangerous situation first!
- Ask passers-by for help if you cannot extract yourself on your own.
- Scream and yell if you have to!
- Find a Black Rock Ranger - rangers are NOT Law Enforcement, they are there to help you no matter what the circumstances, no questions asked.
- Rangers are around all the time, you can identify them by their uniform
- If you can’t find a Ranger, start yelling “call the Rangers!” as loud as possible until other Burners hear you. You will be helped. You are not alone!
- Ranger Camp is open 24/7 if you need help, support, a place to go, some company, or for any safety concerns. They are located at: 3:00 & C and 9:00 & C plazas
Camp Guest Policy
- All campers will have a KK wristband to be worn at all times on playa—this helps us identify campers and non-campers
- Guests are permitted in camp when escorted by KK campers
- Guests are not welcomed without escorts into pods
- Guests without escorts can be asked to leave center shade if loitering in a sketchy manner
- Guests are not privy to our camp dinners as we do not purchase enough food for sharing publicly
Locking up your stuff
- A small combination lock for suitcases fits well in your tent zippers, you can lock it on the outside when you go off into the sunset and on the inside when you're tucked in bed
- Be sure to lock up your bike with a combination lock at all times so someone doesn’t walk away with it
- It is especially important to lock your valuable up on man burn night! Nefarious individuals may take this as an opportunity to steal while everyone is gone at the same time
