RECYCLING ON PLAYA

Exciting news - you can recycle on Playa! It’s a great way to reduce the amount of MOOP/trash you’ll have to carry back out with you after the event

What is accepted:

✅ Aluminum cans ONLY, crushed

X NO aluminum foil, glass, plastic, tin, paper, cardboard, batteries or any garbage

If you have other recyclables, you should plan to bring them back with you after the event and dispose responsibly at a local recycling center

Where to bring your cans: Bring them to the Recycle Camp that is located in Center Camp.

When: 9am-5pm Monday to Sunday

Note: Crush your cans before dropping them off, or ride the “Blue/Duck”, Recycle Camp’s State-Of-The-Art bicycle powered can crushing machine

Fun facts:

• Nearly 75% of all aluminum ever produced is still in use today
• A used aluminum can will be recycled and back on the grocery shelf as a new can, in as little as 60 days. That’s closed loop recycling at its finest!
• Only 60% of the aluminum cans produced are recycled.
• It takes 90% less energy to manufacture an aluminum can from recycled aluminum.
• Tossing away one aluminum can wastes as much energy as pouring out half of that can’s volume of gasoline.
