• One thing about swamp coolers, if used without water, they keep positive pressure in your tent or RV and help in keeping the dust out.
• The ideal approach is to have swamp cooler push processed air into tent from outside, pressurizing to keep out dust, while also allowing air exchange (venting humidity). People have MacGyvered cardboard-and-duct-tape plenums onto box-type coolers like this, to funnel output into round duct into tent, but it's a dicey proposition.
• Also, in an effort to save water and to have to dump less, it is recommended to used melted ice from the coolers as swamp cooler water. A cooler on playa will have 1-2 gallons a day of melted ice in it.
